Summary:

The Tree Place is a Family Owned business that has been in operation for 35 years. We foster a work culture that is fun, safe, and respectful. This position is ideal for people who enjoy working with plants and getting lots of fresh air and sunlight. Trees require a lot of water, nutrition, and care to grow. As such, you'll be tasked with helping us keep our trees healthy and happy. In the process, you'll learn about the day to day operations of a retail nursery and develop skills which will help you grow with us.

Primary Duties:

• Unloading and loading trees and plant material
• General labor around the nursery
• Operating skid steer as needed
• Assisting customers with questions on product availability and pricing
• Loading plants, trees, mulch, and soil into customer vehicles
• Mowing, weed-eating, and other general maintenance of nursery grounds
• Watering, pruning, fertilizing, staking, and weeding trees
• Vehicle and tool maintenance
• Maintaining irrigation lines
• Perform other duties as requested

Physical Demands:

• Standing and walking for extended periods of time
• Lifting of up to 75 lbs.
• Extended periods of time outdoors in potentially extreme heat or cold (Texas weather)

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 18 or older
• Must be able to work weekends
• Must have reliable transportation

Desired qualifications:

• Previous nursery experience
• Experience with operating skid-steers or heavy equipment
• Plumbing and irrigation experience
